Pink House

I had fun with my friend Kate photographing a historical home built in 1836 in Blue Springs, Missouri. The homeowners were nice enough to let us to visit this home and use is as a background for the shoot. Also, as part of the photography project I made a tiny replica of the home as a gift for the owners.

Tiny Tin Habitat

Adorableness comes in all shapes and sizes. I saw an opportunity to make something adorable out of one of many Altoid smalls tins.

Resin, rocks and a little magazine clipping complete this little habitat display.

Back to the Future

On October 21st, 2015 we sadly, did not see Marty McFly arrive.

However, I still celebrated the movie with a few BTTF crafts.

Here we have a cake, cat play box and some hoverboard inspired nail art.

Follow the links to see how to do these crafts for yourself.

Under the Sea

I helped a friend create an "Under the Sea" mermaid baby shower. The idea was not to be Disney's the little mermaid but at the same time, have a red haired baby and use the colors mint and lavender..but not have anything to do with Ariel. So, I went with a different orangish shade of red for the merbaby's hair and didn't cross over into greens and purple as much as possible. Take a look at all the mermaids and their friends for this Under the Sea adventure.

Cheeseburger Cake

This was a fun work of art to create. This is a three layer 8" cake dressed up to look like a cheeseburger complete with fries and ketchup.

The buns are yellow cake covered with marshmallow fondant and the burger is just plain ol' naked chocolate cake. The fondant is colored using a Color Mist aerosol food color spray. Lettuce, cheese, tomato, pickles and bacon are all made of Shape-and-Amaze sugar dough. Red and yellow dyed icing make up the ketchup and mustard. It would actually be a good cake for someone learning about cake decorating. It was a lot of fun to build.

I have also been working on my website this week to add more galleries and pricing info. You can see it at http://bekkoecho.wix.com/hoocaresaboutyou.

That's all for now. Hope to move on to more projects very soon ;)

I am getting ready for a big party in a couple weeks. The theme is simply "Flamingos!"
This is an instructable on how to build your own fabulous flamingo fascinator. I know it looks like I'm holding it in this picture but it stays up just fine. The trick is that it is lightweight and it is attached to a headband for support.

Check it out here:http://www.instructables.com/id/Flamingo-Novelty-Fascinator/
There will be more flamingo crafts on the blog soon!
